“This album was a pure joy to handle because the whole thing was wrapped up in a little over a month, and I usually take a year or two to finish a music album,” comments Brave Wave Creative Director Mohammed Taher. “I’ve been a huge fan of Stemage’s work on Metroid Metal for over a decade and I couldn’t be happier with how our tribute album for him turned out. Thanks to the exceptional musicians that we work with, this album is a testament to Brave Wave’s ability for producing remix albums in a unique and timely fashion.”

The full talent roster for Card of Darkness: The Remixes is as follows:

About Brave Wave Productions

Brave Wave is a record label based in Tokyo and dedicated to exploring the interplay between videogames, music, and nostalgia. The dual-natured label produces and publishes award-winning solo albums by Japanese game composers, as well as newly restored soundtracks under the supervision of the original game composers and sound teams. Brave Wave is a multinational label, run and directed by Kuwait-based Mohammed Taher, Japan-based Alex Aniel, and Swiss engineer Marco Guardia.

The label is known for bridging the gap between Western and Japanese creators, best evident in the videogame Shovel Knight (by Yacht Club Games) in which Mega Man composer Manami Matsumae was able to contribute music to. The label is prominently known for its Generation Series line of restored soundtracks, starting with Street Fighter II The Definitive Soundtrack which sold out in minutes and later appeared on the Billboard charts. Brave Wave continues its mission of supporting game composers on their solo albums, with over a dozen non-soundtrack projects planned for the upcoming years and directed by label head Mohammed Taher.
