Squaresoft Chillout Album “The World is Square” Now Available

Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day with eight smooth chillout remixes from Squaresoft’s SNES and PSX eras courtesy of producer Mustin
Scarlet Moon Records is excited to release THE WORLD IS SQUARE, a Valentine’s Day tribute to Squaresoft JRPGs from the SNES and PSX eras lovingly arranged by producer and videogame remixing pioneer Mustin. Mustin–best known as the co-founder of OneUp Studios and The OneUps–arranges fan-favorite tracks from Secret of ManaChrono TriggerFinal Fantasy IVFinal Fantasy VI, and Final Fantasy VII in a series of smooth ballads including live violin and guitar. Each track is dedicated to a special girl in Mustin’s life, making a perfect musical accompaniment for Valentine’s Day. THE WORLD IS SQUARE is licensed and available today:
“I spent countless hours as a kid playing through these games,” notes arranger/ and producer Mustin. “Adulthood didn’t seem to hinder me in any way seeing as how I have bought every release and remake of Final Fantasy IV. Every one of these themes is a time travel device that takes me back to my youth – sharing the emotions of these characters on my screen. I hope the listeners share my nostalgia!”

Each track is dedicated to a special girl in Mustin’s life, making a perfect musical accompaniment for Valentine’s Day. And yes, the album’s title is a reference to the optional dungeon puzzle from Final Fantasy VI. THE WORLD IS SQUARE is fully licensed and is now available for pre-order with a February 14, 2019 release date:

“This album is a celebration of my favorite time in gaming: the (then) Squaresoft RPG,” comments arranger/producer Mustin. “Having completed the first track in 2003, this has been a 15+ year project in the making. I hope you enjoy my first true solo outing.”
