Kakao Games Announces Collaboration With Kong Studios for ‘Guardian Tales’ in Western Markets

2 min read

Pixel art, multiplayer, action-adventure game will be soft launched in Canadian markets in preparation for wider release. Worldwide launch planned for later this year on both iOS and Android.

Kakao Games announced today that it will be publishing Kong Studios’ upcoming game: Guardian Tales. The game will be serviced worldwide by the publisher and will be launched in several phases. Guardian Tales is currently already available on Google Play in Canada with an iOS version following shortly. The soft launch window will also be extended to European countries at a later date.

During the soft launch window, the publisher and developer will be focused on finding bugs and making improvements to the game based on feedback from users during this period. Eliminating bugs and other technical issues will be especially important in the first few days of availability.

Guardian Tales is a pixel art, top-down, action-adventure game in which players dive into dungeons as part of an epic quest. But since it is dangerous to go alone, players can also collect various helpers to assist them in combat. Using charming pixel art graphics and challenging players through complex puzzles and challenging boss fights, Guardian Tales will also see players explore a wide range of different worlds that pay homage to the rich history of video games that inspired the developers to create the game.

With the increased focus on mobile games, following the success of Black Desert Online, Kakao Games is also cementing its efforts in western markets as an all-around publisher focussed on bringing games of all classes to customers in European and North American markets.
